this is wonderful, original promotional poster entitled 'filming wings.'
wings is a 1927 classic silent film set during world war 1 (WW1).
starred clara bow, charles buddy rogers, richard arlen.
a very young gary cooper also appears in the film, but is not pictured on the poster.
the poster offers 13 B&W photographic images from the film.
2 of the images feature clara bow.
measures 15"x19."
the filming of wings involved hundreds of extras & pilots, many of whom were associated w the united states army.
a poster such as this was probably presented to one of the army regiments involved in the filming.
this poster was presented to company f, 9th infantry, based in houston texas.
the upper area of the poster has a spot in which an army officer's photo appears.
there is also an honor roll section listing the names of the officers & soldiers.
the poster is very displayable.
all imagery is great looking.
can be displayed just as it is or restored to look even more sensational.
there is wear/damage that includes -
many crease lines (some of which are heavy) & tears.
some creases/tears were amateurishly repaired on the back w old tape.
nearly impossible to find in any condition.
