Description
This original"Sunnyside" ( first released in 1919)
poster is nearly a century old and looks like it was just hung outside the theater. This stunning "re issue," is from 1923. This 3 sheet (41" by a whopping 81") is arguably one of the most beautiful illustrations of Chaplin as
“The Little Tramp”
ever depicted in a poster. I bought it originally because he's dressed as the tramp, and looks like he's staring right into your eyes with that signature smile that captivated the world. This was the height of his popularity and you can see that. Because it is a spectacular three sheet, the image of Chaplin standing is nearly life-size so he's close to eye level. First National distributed the picture initially, Pathe got the rights and brought them back. This stone lithograph original poster by Pathe is a stunner. I bought it at auction years ago and it is Linen mounted and has been in a smoke free environment framed out of direct sunlight. Most buy posters for the title or the image. This is a spectacular image and because it's a lesser known short is still affordable. I believe this poster in its original form is extremely rare as I bought it in the 1990s and has been off the market.
I will sell the frame additional if you want it, but my assumption is that it would ship rolled and buyer pays insurance. Questions welcome.
